Who we are

Parlamain is published by a sole proprietor based in France (“we”). The parlamain.com website and the Parlamain Chrome extension are our services. For any question about your data: contact@parlamain.com.

What the extension does, and what it doesn’t

The Parlamain extension is used to record an action in an online tool (clicks, filled-in fields, screenshots) to turn it into a guided lesson, and to follow a lesson on the real tool (Guide-me mode).

Everything you record stays in your browser, in the extension’s local storage, until you publish. Nothing is sent to our servers without an action from you (“Publish”, “Send to course”).

The extension does not read your browsing history, does not record your passwords, and does not track your activity outside a recording or a lesson that you started. It contains no advertising trackers and sells no data.

Why the extension asks for certain permissions

“Active tab” and “scripts on the page”: to display the lesson bubbles on the page you are viewing and to find the element to click. Only while a recording or a lesson is in progress.

“Tab screenshot”: to take the image of each step during a recording that you started.

“Storage”: to keep your lessons and courses in your browser.

“Site access”: because a lesson can be about any online tool; the extension only acts on the tab where you activated it.

The data we process

When you publish a lesson or a tour: its content (steps, texts, screenshots, voice) is stored on our servers to be served at the link you share. You can edit or unpublish it at any time.

When a student follows a published lesson: we record progress events (step started, completed, help requested, exam result), associated with an anonymous visitor identifier and, if the student entered them, their first name and email address for the certificate. This data is used by the trainer to follow progress, and for nothing else.

When you fill in a form on the site (contact, free first lesson): first name, email, link and message, in order to reply to you. They are kept in our contact management tool.

When you create an account or subscribe to a plan: email, name, plan, and payment data processed by Stripe. We neither see nor store your card number.

Site traffic statistics: audience measurement without advertising cookies, to know which pages are read.

Legal basis and retention

We process this data to perform the service you request (contract), to answer your requests (legitimate interest) and, for informational emails, with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Published content is kept for as long as your account exists. Students’ progress data is kept for 24 months, then anonymized. Contact requests are kept for 3 years. Billing data is kept for 10 years, as required by law.

Where the data is, and who can access it

Our servers and database are hosted by Estage (infrastructure on Amazon Web Services); payments by Stripe; the synthetic voice may go through your browser’s own service. Each of these providers is bound by contract to use the data only to provide us with the service.

We do not sell, rent or transfer any data.

Your rights

You can access your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict its processing, object to a processing or request its portability. Write to contact@parlamain.com; we reply within one month. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr), the French data protection authority.

To delete the data stored by the extension in your browser, uninstall it: Chrome erases its local storage.

Cookies

The site uses strictly necessary cookies (session, preferences) and an audience measurement exempt from consent. No advertising cookies. If we one day add a tool that requires them, a banner will ask for your agreement before anything is set.
