Parlamain School · Recorder

Do it once. Parlamain writes the tutorial.

The Chrome extension records your clicks and gestures, takes the screenshots, writes the instructions, masks what needs masking. You add your voice and it becomes text. The tutorial exists before you’ve even re-read it.

The recorder in action: 9 clicks become a tutorial

From doing it to a tutorial, in four steps

In the demo: adding a product in an online shop. Nine gestures, nine written steps, one minute.

  1. 1

    Start

One click on the Parlamain icon, “Start recording”. A small badge shows the number of steps; drag it wherever you like.

  2. 2

    Work as usual

Every click becomes a step, with its own screenshot. Typed text, a ticked box, an opened list, a drag and drop, a scroll: everything is recognized and named.

  3. 3

    Explain

In the editor, each step already has its instruction (“Click Products”). You dictate an explanation: your voice is written out automatically, and can be kept as is.

  4. 4

    Export

Animated HTML guide to send, video with voice and music, Guide-me lesson, course, SCORM: the same recording does it all.

The editor: everything is already there.

The steps in order, the screenshots, the instruction for each gesture, the masked areas. All that’s left is to speak, or write, then choose the export. A lesson goes into a course in one click.

The exported animated guide plays in any browser: list of steps or step-by-step playback, with a cursor, voice and subtitles.

What the recorder does for you

Every gesture has a name

Click, typing, checkbox, switch, list, drag, submit, scroll: the instruction is written for you, in the right language.

Automatic masking

Emails, phone numbers, cards, IBANs, keys and passwords are masked on the screenshots before you even see them. Plus a list of words to always hide.

A voice that writes itself

You speak, the text appears. Keep your recorded voice or let the synthetic voice read in the viewer’s language.

Seven languages

French, English, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch: instructions, texts and voice translated, one export per language.

Video and animated guide

An MP4 video ready to publish, or a standalone HTML file with animated playback, subtitles and voice.

Imported images and videos

Software outside the browser? Capture the screen with your voice, or import screenshots or a video: everything is cut into steps at each screen change.

Sound design

Six original moods or your own music, in the background, automatically lowered during the voice.

Up-to-date screenshots

The software changed? “Update screenshots” replays the tutorial and replaces the images, keeping your texts and voice.

Your tool isn’t a website? No problem.

Invoicing software, editing software, accounting software, a business app: the extension can’t see those windows, so Parlamain films the screen. Same result as with a website: steps, instructions, a guide, a course.

Capture the screen

Choose the window, and speak as if the student were sitting next to you. Your voice is recorded, and your face can appear in a bubble. At the end, the video is cut into steps in the editor.

The guide beside the software

The student keeps their software on the left, the guide shows on the right. Or the guide becomes a small floating window, placed on the side opposite the click and moved at each step.

Coming soon: a desktop app that places a purple frame directly over the software and follows the mouse, just like Guide-me on the web.

Frequently asked questions

Can I redo just one step?+

Yes. “Redo step” restarts recording on that step only: the screenshot is replaced, the text and voice stay.

What about software installed on the computer?+

Yes. “Capture the screen” records the window of your choice, with your voice and, if you want, your face in a bubble. The video is cut into steps, then becomes a guide, a course or a lesson. You can also import a video or screenshots you already have.

Can a student follow the guide while using the software?+

Yes: “Guide beside the software” opens the guide on half the screen, or in a small floating window placed on the side opposite the click. An arrow shows the direction. Click-by-click tracking with a frame placed over the software will need a desktop app, which is in preparation.

Does my data stay with me?+

Everything happens in your browser: tutorials are stored on your computer. Nothing is sent until you publish, and sensitive areas are masked beforehand.
